HOW TO FIND A GOOD REAL ESTATE AGENT

By Valentino Peric

Selling your home can be an overwhelming task. At the end of the day he or she will be selling your home - hundreds of dollars’ worth of property value. Start the process by researching local real estate offices and visit their websites. As you start to take a closer look it makes sense to ask your neighbors if they used services of any good real estate agent and what their experience was.

Check their website and their testimonial page. Just because one sales representative has the most homes for sale in your suburb doesn’t mean that they will be best for your specific needs.

Why choose Valentino to sell your home

Find out how many years of experience he or she has, visit their Sunday home open and have a chat to them in their work environment.

Observe how they conduct them self’s and do they seem knowledgeable and experienced.

Alternatively call them up. Note how they answer your phone call and if they do not answer note how much time it took for them to get back to you.

In my experience there are  6 most important subjects that I cover with property sellers so by asking these questions you will be much closer to choosing your next real estate sales representative. Questions are in order of importance. Number 1 being most important.

6 questions you need to ask before selecting a Real Estate Agent to sell your home:

  1. Are you full-time in Real Estate?

  2. Do you have any buyers on your books that are looking to purchase properties similar to mine?

  3. What is my property worth on today’s market?

  4. What is your marketing plan?

  5. How long will my property take to sell?

  6. What are your charges?

Honesty

Go into your meeting with any potential agents with your internal lie detector dialed to HIGH. A real estate agent that you can keep an open dialogue and feel comfortable with is more likely to understand you, your needs and your situation.

Experience

Including skills, market knowledge, advertising background and relevant sales experience in your area. Make sure they have at least several years’ experience in real estate. You definitely cannot afford novice and someone who doesn’t know what they are doing, or someone who is not serious about their job. Google their name and surname. You will be amazed what you can find out about a person from a simple Google search!

Communication

You want someone who will keep you informed all the times, will answer your phone calls and emails promptly without delay and with clarity. Especially after home opens!!!

Attention to detail

Look for little details. As simple as their business card, their internet listings, to the way they present themselves online, on the phone and in person. Do they have their personal website and blog.

Are they calm and collected and what their attitude to their job is. All these will be a sign of how you will get treated as a client. You want someone who will be able to offer you great tips on staging your home for home opens, who has an eye for the things potential buyers may or may not like, and who will sell themselves as well as they sell your home.

These are just some of the questions that you should be asking before selecting Real Estate Agent. I do understand that you might add some of your own flair but if you at lease get answers to some of the above questions you are on right path of selecting good agent.
